For children ages 8 and above...

Right. And two mechanically inclined adults. And some spare screws. And tools. And about four or five hours. Jeez. You know, I had an erector set as a child and I vividly recall building projects by myself at age ten. I could have literally tuned up my car and changed the oil in less time and with far less aggravation than we needed to build this toy. Thumbs up to my wife for for her determination to finish it. I would have pitched it into the circular file.

Is the Staten Island Expressway ever not jammed??!!

In at least a decade, I don't think I've ever made over this road without a long traffic jam. Ever.

Amazing how these never change

Still in the same old wax paper wrapper. You would figure that by now they would have a shiny plastic wrapper with some sort of new or improved or healthy style slogan. These fruit pies are about the only food I can think of whose wrapper is exactly as I remember it from my childhood. They're still no good for you, of course, but I like them anyway.

Craptastic

My brother coined this word when describing some of the home remodeling nightmares that have appeared around us of late. This one has it all; pink polished granite statuary, two different colors and textures of vinyl siding, polished stainless steel railings with brass accents and glazed brick walls. What is with these folks! Somebody actually paid money for this.

Little league season comes to an end.

Rom

Also, for any Star Trek DS9 fans out there, the coach's brother was there. He played Rom the Ferengi :) Jordan's team had a great season going 6-2 but were eliminated in the playoffs. Good stuff

Different day, same...

Woke up at 6am today to the sound of a running dog loosing traction on a hardwood floor. Not a pleasant sound.

Had a lovely commute home on June 2...

Poured all day flooding the subways. After walking from line to line for an hour and a half only to find that all of them were out, I finally wound up on the Long Island Railroad. My 45 minute commute wound up taking three hours. Loads of fun if you like marching around NYC in a driving rainstorm for a few hours. Maybe its just that I don't remember past problems on the subway well but this sort of problem seems to be happening more and more lately. I don't know if is a maintenance problem of if we are just getting more rain quickly but I can't ever recall the subways flooding out so frequently.
